Core electives and undergraduate electives
Students of all engineering degrees of the 2016 plan must take 4 ECTS of OPTATIVE subjects and 2 ECTS of CORE* OPTATIVE subjects. These two types of subjects are optional and therefore, the student may choose the subjects to be taken among the options shown below.
CORE OPTIONAL Subjects 2022/2023
Cultural Key Electives (CORE)
2020 plan students of all engineering degrees are required to take 2 OPTIONAL subjects of CULTURAL KEYS I and II (2ECTS each), 1 in each semester.
2016 plan students have to take 1 subject (2ECTS in total).
These are subjects that form part of the University's Core Curriculum. They contribute to the intellectual training of students and complement specialised and professional training by promoting intellectual habits and fostering interdisciplinarity.
-
The ECTS of subjects CULTURAL KEYS I and II cannot be validated for social, cultural or sporting activities.
-
These subjects must be taken at Tecnun and cannot be validated by any subject taken at another university. For this reason, if the student is interested in participating in the Exchange Programme, it is recommended that they are taken in the third year.
The student can choose the subject/s to be taken from among the following:

OPTIONAL Subjects
Students in the 2016 plan must take 4 ECTS of OPTIONAL subjects (in addition to the 2 ECTS OPTIONAL of CULTURAL KEYS).
The OPTIONAL subjects offer specific knowledge on very diverse subjects or skills and have a more instrumental character. In this case, students may validate up to the ECTS corresponding to this block for social, cultural and sports activities recognized by Tecnun. Students who have enrolled in elective subjects cannot cancel their enrollment in some of them because they have subsequently obtained the recognition of some credit; the obtaining of these credits must be foreseen when formalizing the enrollment. Once the student has obtained the certificates of the activities carried out, he/she must formalize the recognition by ECTS in the secretary's office.
*Courses that do not have a minimum of 15 enrolments will not be taught.
