Before arriving
PROCEDURE DE APPLICATION
The application is only for students belonging to partner universities. In order to enroll, the student must have the approval of their university. In case a student does not belong to a partner university, but wishes to participate in the TECNUN exchange program, he/she will have to contact contact with his/her International Office office.
Once the nomination has been made, we will need the coordinator to complete the form of application online and indicate the following data:
- Name/Surname of student
- Date of birth
- E-mail address
- Sex
- Nationality
- degree program
- Years completed
- semester
- home university/Country
Once the deadline nomination is completed, the International Office office will send information and instructions to student to continue with the Admissions Office process.
For apply for the Admissions Office, the following documentation will be required:
- Fill out the form of registration online
- A scanned photo
- Scanned copy of passport
- Nomination letter from your university
- certificate health insurance for the exchange period
- Qualification dossier
The deadlines for application are as follows:
1st semester or all of academic year:

Once the International Office Service has evaluated the application and the academic record the student will receive a letter of acceptance along with additional information.
The letter of acceptance may also be used for apply for for a residence permit or visa if required.

STUDENT VISA
Students from the European Union or from Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway will need a passport to enter Spain. Once they are in the country, they must carry their passport with them at all times.
Students who are not from the European Union or from Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Switzerland must apply for a student visa at the Spanish Embassy or consulate of their country of residence, completing all the documents required by the authorities.
Before arriving in Spain, the visa must be stamped by the Immigration department or it will be considered invalid.
MEDICAL INSURANCE
Persons from European Union member states, including Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland, must obtain the card European Health Insurance or have health insurance staff to access health care services.
During the overseas study period this card ensures access to Spanish public health care in the same way as the country's citizens do.
The card European Sanitary is not useful in the following cases:

Receiving a treatment that you had before travelling

Receiving private health care
Students coming from non-European Union countries must take out medical insurance staff to cover them for the entire duration of their stay in Spain. Copies of these documents may be required at the Embassy for apply for and at the university.
In case of emergency, it is essential to always carry a copy with you while residing and traveling abroad.
The usual procedure to receive attendance medical care is by contacting the insurance company for a list of medical services in the area of residence, in this case, San Sebastian. The student should then contact contact directly with them and pay in advance for the service and treatments received. Afterwards, he/she should send the invoices and the required documentation to his/her insurance company to be reimbursed. In your insurance insurance policy will appear detailed procedure to follow in each case.
On arrival
TECNUN organizes the Welcoming day for all international students with the goal to help them integrate and adapt to daily life in TECNUN and San Sebastian.
The Welcoming day is organized on the eve of the start of classes, where students will take a tour of the school to get to know the facilities of TECNUN (libraries, study rooms, computer rooms, etc.).
They will also have the opportunity to meet their advisor and buddy, as well as the rest of their classmates.
Once registered as students of TECNUN, they will receive the Student ID card with which they will be able to access the center's facilities. It is important that students always carry their ID card with them.
The Welcome Programme is free of charge.

Subjects Degree: No language qualification is required. But it is recommended to have a level of Spanish B2 if you are going to take subjects at Spanish.

Master's degree courses: certificate level Spanish B2 is required.

Research projects: no knowledge of Spanish is required. Projects can be carried out in English.
Both in Degree and in the Master's program, subjects are taught entirely in English and partially in English/Spanish.
The issue of subjects in English is continuously increasing.
The Institute of language and Spanish Culture (ILCE), belongs to the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra and offers, since 1967, courses of language, Spanish culture, literature and history, as well as customized programs for international students and universities.
ILCE is a delegated center of the Instituto Cervantes for the Diploma Spanish language exams (DELE).

TECNUN offers a "Spanish" course during the semester. It is a subject elective subject of 4 ECTS credit.
There is a minimum and maximum issue of participants, and the group is formed at the beginning of the semester by level of the language.
CONSULTING
The University of Navarra's mentoring program is defined as a one-on-one relationship between a professor and a student. The professor provides ongoing support, guidance, and concrete financial aid to a student in need of a positive model .
Counseling is a service that seeks to improve students' academic performance and facilitate their participation in university life. The professor offers career counseling, exposing the available options and possibilities for further improvement. Mentors help students map personal and cultural goals towards a more staff and efficient Education.
Counselling is not merely an occasional activity aimed at meeting a specific need at a given moment in time. And it is by no means meaningful only when the student has serious academic needs. It is rather the channel for a permanent relationship between teachers and students, which benefits both.
The academic staff cares for students through occasional interviews or through scheduled meetings that take place on a regular basis. Regularity is essential for the tutorial to be of any use.
In addition, at TECNUN we also have the "Buddy Programme".
The Buddy Program is a program that matches new international students with students from Tecnun. The buddy is here to help integrate you during your first weeks in San Sebastian. With this program you will have first hand advice from students, some of whom are international students and have been to your place. You will also be at contact with them before you arrive, and will be able to answer any questions you may have before you leave your country.

No visa application is necessary for students with a 180-day visa as this subject visa does not require a residence permit. Be sure to leave the country before or on the same day the visa expires.

The Spanish health system is considered one of the best in the world. As an international exchange student at Tecnun you will have access to this health system.

Public and Private Health Centres
The Spanish health system consists of both public and private hospitals and health centres.
You can find a health centre in each of the neighbourhoods of San Sebastián. If you need to go to one of them, you should go to the one that corresponds to the area in which you live.
STUDENT SAFETY AND WELL BEING
As one of Spain's safest cities, San Sebastian's crime rate is practically non-existent. Howeverso be sure to use your common sense and be aware of your surroundings.

This document specifies for which Degrees is compatible with the course offerings of host university and for which semester.
Those student who would like to do an exchange to study subjects, will have to search in their Degree for universities with the "X" in the "CO" column.
If you want to do an exchange at the second semester and do the project End of Degree, you will have to look for universities where both CO and PFG are marked.
The student who wants to make a project End of Degree for a whole semester, after taking all the subjects, will have to choose universities marked in PFC.
Likewise, this document specifies for which Master's degree students can take the project Final Master's Degree (PFM) in a laboratory of a foreign university, or in which universities a Double Master's Degree (Double MSc) can be taken.
