A total of 214 students from high school program have registered at quotation in Tecnun the School of Engineering of the University of Navarra, to discover in a practical way what engineering is and the career opportunities it offers.to discover in a practical way what engineering is and what are its professional opportunities. The sixteenth edition of the conference Introduction to Engineering, organized by the Promotion, Orientation and Admission Service of Tecnun, took place over six days at campus in Ibaeta and Miramon and was led by director, Mikel Arcelus, and Irene de Vicente.
Young people who are eager to enter the world of engineering as they have done internships in different branches of engineering such as biomedical, industrial design , telecommunications, robotics, mechanics, electronics, artificial intelligence or industrial organization. "With these conference we want to help young people understand what the work of an engineer is, the different engineering profiles and the difference between the Degrees offered," says Arcelus, who stresses that "doing it through games and practical workshops financial aid them to understand it better."
It should be noted that the young participants come from schools in the Basque Country, Navarra, La Rioja, Aragon, Galicia, Catalonia, Madrid, Valencia, Murcia, Andalusia and the Canary Islands, among others. The young people have stayed at the Colegio Mayor Jaizkibel, the Residencia University Company of Mary and the Colegio Mayor Olarain.
In addition to the practical workshops, throughout these days, the 214 students have received orientation sessions and have been able to solve their doubts by talking to professors and laboratory technicians and PhD students.
