Yago Lizarribar, an engineer from San Sebastian, has been distinguished with the award National End of Career 2015-2016, awarded by the Ministry of Education and professional training to the best records in the country. Lizarribar has achieved one of the 52 National End of Career Awards in the engineering branch, which are awarded taking into account the academic record and other curricular merits.

The goal of the call is to distinguish students who have completed their university studies with the greatest brilliance with an official recognition that at the same time entails a financial award. Lizarribar was awarded 2,200 euros for obtaining third place in engineering studies.

Yago holds a degree in Industrial Technologies Engineering and a Master's degree in Industrial Engineering from Tecnun, the School of Engineering of the University of Navarra in San Sebastian.

He is currently in Switzerland on a doctoral stay, as part of his doctoral program at IMDEA Networks (Madrid). Specifically, he is at Armasuisse, the center of the Technological and Research branch of the Swiss Ministry of Defense.

After learning that he had received one of the National End of Degree Awards, Yago expressed his "gratitude to all the people who have made this possible, to my professors at Tecnun, who make engineering accessible and, of course, to my family".

Lizarribar assures that this award is a source of immense pride. "During my career I worked hard and it always feels good when your efforts are recognized," says the engineer, who adds: "When you apply for this class awards or scholarships there is always a part of you that has the hope of getting them, but when the first lists came out and I saw that everything was very tight, I was not very clear. Fortunately, everything went well," she says.
