Tecnun will be one of the sites of the Aon Foundation's Chair Catastrophes

TecnunThe School of Engineering of the University of Navarra will be one of the sites of the Chair Catastrophes of the Aon Foundation, together with the Universidad Pontificia Comillas ICAI-Icade, through the Institute of Migration Studies. goal The Chair is a pioneering initiative both in Spain and at European level that aims to structure and systematically develop the research and study of catastrophes.
Within the Chair of Catastrophes, two projects are included in the School of Engineering of the University of Navarra. goal On the one hand, research on "Improving the resilience of urban critical infrastructures in the face of climate change", with the aim that, according to Professor Leire Labaka, "the service provided by critical infrastructures, such as transport or communications, is the most efficient possible in catastrophic situations".
It also includes the project of the "Taxonomy of predictive tools for catastrophes, aimed at analyzing and comparing different predictive tools used to anticipate and assess disasters and the risks associated with them".
The Disaster Observatory establishes the award José María Sarriegi
Professor at Tecnun-University of Navarra, José María Sarriegi, who was very actively involved in the creation and launch of the Disaster Observatory, passed away in December 2018. The Disaster Observatory of the Aon Spain Foundation and Tecnun have established on its report the award José María Sarriegi for the best article of academic research on disaster-related topics published in the year by a specialized scientific journal.
