The Tecnun eRacing team of the University's School of Engineering presents its new car, the TeR25.

More than 200 people attended the presentation of the new Tecnun eRacing team car of the Tecnun eRacing team of the School of Engineering of the University of Navarra in San Sebastian, at Real Sociedad's soccer stadium, Reale Arena. The event was hosted by the School's master students, Iker Elizetxea and Irati Jerez, and was attended by the 60 students, 31% women, from the different engineering courses taught at Tecnun, who are part of the automotive team in charge of the single-seater. Among them, the students from Navarra: Alaitz Iriarte, Ivan Arambel, Miguel Oroz and Natalia Bañon. With this new car they will compete in summer at international level in Austria, Barcelona and Germany.
The presentation was also attended by numerous alumni of the school, professors and employees of Tecnun, who wanted to support the team. "For Tecnun this project means four certainties," said the director of business relations at the School of Engineering, Rocío Núñez. She specified that there is "a talent that is capable of connecting with demanding values such as working in detail" or "a commitment linked to respect, freedom and sustainability". "We are facing a bequest of alumni, who have been part of this project before, and it has a future, it is sustainable, because it will be the current and future students who will guarantee its continuity," he said.
Núñez also wanted to highlight the collaborations in this project of companies and institutions such as Tecnalia, with its project Manager in Technologies of Composite Materials for Industry & Mobility applications, Eduard Bellvert, who participated in a roundtable, along with the student Clara Schoepp, from the Chassis area , or the Tecnun alumni, and Co-Founder, Head of Testing Area in EPowerlabs, Mikel Martínez, who shared roundtable with the Electronics student, Miguel Oroz .
Also in attendance were the General Manager of Tecnun, Soledad Abad, the Deputy Director of the School's Office of Academic Affairs , Nere Gil, both members of the School's board of directors, and the Faculty Advisor of the Tecnun team, Julie Laurent. The event was also attended by Alazne Arocena, from Fomento San Sebastian.
During the presentation, the car's year-long manufacturing process was explained. The Head of Management, Elene Albisua, the Head of Drivetrain & Cooling, Pau Buj, and the Head of Aerodynamics, Borja Muguruza, shared their experiences from three of the eight areas into which the team is divided. After the speeches, the attendees moved to the field, where after a countdown, the technical director of the team, Nacho Diaz, and the Team Leader, Mikel Sancho, unveiled the TeR25.
At the event, the creation of a new area within the team, dedicated to the development of autonomous driving technologies, was announced. This step marks the beginning of an ambitious path towards the design of an autonomous car, with the goal of competing in the Driverless category in the coming years.
