The University of Navarra scores the highest in the indicators of approach international (International Outlook) and in research income from private sources (Industry Income) of all Spanish universities, according to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023. Taking into account all the indicators evaluated by the ranking, it is the fourth best in Spain and ranks among the 251-300 best universities in the world (out of a total of 1,799 universities ranked this year).

Times Higher Education evaluates universities in this global ranking on 13 different indicators grouped into 5 areas: teaching, research, academic appointments, and industry revenues, international outreach and industry revenues. The University of Navarra has improved this year in four of these areas: it has increased in teaching (+6.51%), research (+3.30%), industry income (+0.45%) and internationalization (+0.69%). The University also maintains its first place as the leading private university in Spain, given that the three leading Spanish universities are Catalan public centers: the University of Barcelona, the Pompeu Fabra University and the Autonomous University of Barcelona.

In its study, THE has employee more than 40,000 interviews with academics, 15.5 million articles and more than 121 million citations from the last five years thanks to the bibliometric information of the academic database Elsevier. In this edition, THE World University Ranking has compared more than 2,325 universities from more than 104 countries around the world, of which 1,799 have met the minimum requirements to be classified and after providing together more than 680,000 data on their teaching, income and research.

Rosalía Baena, Vice President for Students, explained that the improvement of the University of Navarra in this ranking "is result of a joint effort of all the professionals of the University to offer the best teaching quality to our students and to investigate, with international impact and multidisciplinarity, problems that concern the world".
