On November 5th, the Solidarity Study Olympiad began in Tecnun and in the rest of the University of Navarra. This is an awareness activity and Education for the development to raise awareness about the importance of access to Education, especially among youth.

The originality of the proposal lies in its original mechanics: For each hour of study that a student spends in any of the solidarity rooms of the participating countries adhered to the initiative, the organization of the Olympiad allocates one euro to a cooperation project . In each edition a average of 4-6 projects are selected, almost always in the field of Education/training, to be supported by the Olympiad.

The Solidarity Study Olympiad lasts for one month, as the project will be active until December 5 at 21.00 hours.

How does it work?

1. Study in one of the Libraries.
2. Write down the hours you have studied on the record card.
3. For every hour you study and register, 1 euro will be donated to the "Arco Iris" School in Senegal.

The study hours collected will be used to support the construction of primary school classrooms at the Arco Iris school so that the children of Saly Velingara can have access to a quality Education . The Arco Iris school is located in Saly Velingara, a Senegalese town in the Thies region, 85 kilometers south of Dakar.

There, the NGO Coopera and its local counterpart, the local association Coopera Senegal, have been working for years to improve the Education and health of the child population, including in their actions the mothers of the area, burdened by the lack of work and high family burdens.
