Yesterday ended the Great University Food Collection that has been carried out jointly at the UPV/EHU, Tecnun-University of Navarra, Mondragon Unibertsitatea University of Deusto and Musikene. The university community of the territory has collected a total of 5,000 kilos of food for the benefit of the Food Bank of Gipuzkoa. This campaign, which began on Monday and was supported on social networks through the hashtag #JanariBilketaUNI, proposed the challenge to get a kilo of food per university student and thus help the most disadvantaged groups in the city. 

It should be noted that this initiative is part of the project UnibertsitARTEAN, recently promoted by the five universities of the territory, in order to join forces and jointly develop activities of a social nature -such as the Great Food Collection-, sports and cultural activities throughout the course.

This project was officially presented to the mayor of the city, Eneko Goia, who was very enthusiastic about the commitment shown by the respective vice-rectors to work together on projects that promote cultural and social life in the area.

UnibertsitARTEAN will soon launch a spring cultural cycle with the goal to present to society in a coordinated way activities related to theater, music and/or performing arts. It will operate on an exchange basis, bringing productions from one center to another in order to achieve greater external projection and encourage mutual knowledge .
