This morning the third year students have passed the halfway point of their stage in the School of Engineers. The workshop started with a mass in the parish of San Sebastián Mártir with the chaplain, Mr. Toché Marín, who stressed the importance of a good education, not only technical, but also human and spiritual.

At 12 noon, after several selfies in the sun, the young people took their seats at auditorium of the Miramar Palace to receive their scholarship and listen to the testimony of three alumni. The theme of the roundtable, moderated by Professor Iñigo Gutiérrez, revolved around training, as core topic of the future professional success of the 172 university students present.

Patrick Fuentes, former student of the Master in Telecommunications Engineering , encouraged students to pursue their dreams, without letting the limits that people around us sometimes place interfere with them: "I combined a high-level career with playing ice hockey, also in the professional category. They told me I wouldn't be able to, but with effort and sacrifice everything is possible". Now, Fuentes said, his focus is set on the doctoral dissertation that he will develop at the School next year, when he finishes the project Master's Degree at the Canadian Queens University.

Along the same lines were the words of former student Laura Viñolas, Technical Director of Industry 4.0 Gestamp. "The added value is in what you do now. Do internships, be interns, live the university," encouraged Viñolas. The student, who belongs to the first graduating class of the Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering, highlighted how beneficial it was for her to do an internship in the 4th year at the company Orona, in her subsequent experience at Nanogune, as well as at Lorie, a subsidiary of Gestamp where she decided to develop her Master's Thesis project : "Seek professional experience and train yourselves," said Laura Viñolas.

For his part, Asier Jauregui, Managing Director CETEST of the CAF group, spoke of the importance of being enthusiastic about what you work for, always doing it with "passion and a sparkle in your eyes". He also gave a confident answer to one of the most frequently asked questions on roundtable: "What are companies looking for? The resume is the cover letter, but what determines the decision is in the interview. I would advise you to always be sincere, honest and transparent, because that is always valued, and very much so," he concluded.

Delegate Markel Larman also said a few words of thanks on behalf of all his colleagues, which were applauded and accompanied by some laughter.

After the group photo in the garden of the Miramar Palace, the protagonists of the day continued the celebration at the Hotel Aránzazu.
