More than 70 national and international companies from a dozen sectors have come to attract future engineering talent at the Employment Forum of Tecnun-University of Navarra, which was held between Thursday and Friday at the Ibaeta technological campus in San Sebastian. The lehendakari, Iñigo Urkullu, has been in charge of closing this year's edition, after visiting the different business stands in the company of the President of the University, Alfonso Sánchez-Tabernero and exchanging impressions with the students and the representatives of the companies.

Since the Forum kicked off on Thursday morning, many students have been lining up at sports center at Tecnun to be interviewed by companies. "It's a great opportunity to find our first job," said student from Degree, Miguel García Lozano. "It's not the same as the coldness of sending resumes from a computer than being able to meet and put a face to your potential employer," added student of Tecnun. "I have already done a lot of interviews and I hope that some of them can crystallize into a contract," he said. Most of the companies that took part in the XXV edition of the Forum expressed the same opinion. "The students at Tecnun are very well trained in every way and we hardly have to invest time in polishing them", acknowledged the company.

Javier Ganuza, director of the External Relations Department, was pleased to see that all the preparatory work for the Employment Forum had been rewarded. Also the director of the School of Engineers, Raúl Antón, was pleased with the development of the event. The Employment Forum has as goal to provide a directcontact between the companies and the students of the last engineering courses. The firms carry out presentations, interviews and recruitment processes oriented to employment rate, project end of career and student internships.

Last year, more than 50% of the 400 participating students found jobs at Career Fair. In addition, during the past academic year 485 job offers were managed through the job listings of Tecnun. Likewise, throughout the month of February, future engineers have received sessions at financial aid for the preparation of the résumés that they have submitted to the companies along the workshop, as well as techniques for job interviews, among others. It is worth mentioning that one of the companies that participated in the Forum was Innoprick, the first start-up of the University of Navarra. The project of Innoprick arose from Gabriel Gastaminza, an allergist at Clínica Universidad de Navarra (CUN), who a few years ago contacted the University's School of Engineers at campus in San Sebastian.

The idea came to him when he realized how much time is invested in collecting allergy test data. Gustavo Pego, one of the heads of Entrepreneurship at the University of Navarra, explains that "Innoprick is possible because we are a research university, with high-level teams and support services, aligned by a common goal ". At the head of the initiative is Óscar Matellanes, an entrepreneur with extensive experience who has developed a business plan that works, and despite the short life of the company, they are already looking for new talent to expand it.
