A concert against loneliness among the elderly in Gipuzkoa
The proceeds of the solidarity concert will be donated to project 'Enrédate' of the Gipuzkoa Red Cross.

quotation The future engineers, as well as numerous professors and employees of Tecnun, met yesterday at auditorium on the occasion of the traditional solidarity concert organized every spring. Eduardo Panayotti, student of Industrial Organization Engineering and member of the Social Commission of Tecnun, presented the project 'Enrédate'de Cruz Roja Gipuzkoa to which the funds of this edition will be destined. Its goal is to improve the social relations of the elderly in their close and community environment by encouraging their social participation.
Panayotti gave a special nod to Divina García, head of the program, who was surrounded by volunteers from the organization and some elderly Enrédate participants. "Undoubtedly, loneliness is still one of their biggest problems. Age can be a triggering risk factor, but it is not the only one. There are circumstances in life that can interrupt our social connections, such as retirement, the onset of mobility problems or dependence," Divina pointed out during her speech. "Our goal is that the elderly person can improve, increase and strengthen their social network , as a mesh of emotional support, staff and preventive, thus having a direct impact on the specific goal , reduce the feeling of loneliness and involuntary isolation," she concluded.
The School Choir delighted the audience with 'Ave María' by Tomás Luis de Victoria, the song 'Goodnight sweetheart' by Clavin Carter and James Hudson and culminated with 'An Irish Blessing' by James E. Moore Jr. Meanwhile, the Big Band and eight groups of students delighted the audience with songs of different musical styles such as 'Take Five' by Paul Desmond, 'Holiday' by Green Day, 'Pasos de Cero' by Pablo Alborán or 'Zapatillas' by El Canto del Loco.
