SMR project awarded for its contribution to research and innovation
Marta Iturriza, Josune Hernantes and Leire Labaka, researchers from the Department of Industrial Organisation at Tecnun, gratefully receive the recognition of the SMR project.

The CEN (European Committee for Standardization) and CENELEC (European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization) annually awards a European project for its contribution to research and innovation in standardisation. On this occasion, the SMR Project, coordinated by the Industrial Organisation department of Tecnun, has been awarded.
The prize awarded aims to highlight the importance of standardisation in projects as a key point for their success in the short term, but above all in the long term. The project ended in June 2018 and with the results obtained, the researchers want to create a network of resilient cities at European level. To this end, as they say, the application of the standardised results is of great help to them, as it allows them to more easily replicate and apply the resilience guide they are developing.
"We were competing with other projects with very good results. At SMR we went through a whole process of standardising the results so that they could be replicated and implemented more easily by the cities," says Marta Iturriza, a doctoral student at Tecnun, "The award is recognition of a job well done. "The award is a recognition of a job well done. At the beginning, the process of standardising the results was laborious. As project coordinators, we were very involved in ensuring that the desired results were achieved. But the participating cities, at first, did not see the usefulness of having to standardise the results obtained. This award somehow confirms the value of the effort we made.
