Tecnun academic year starts this week with 230 new students and record number of female students
47% of them are women and 23% are international students.
More than a thousand engineering students are starting academic year 2019-2020 in one of the eight Degrees, three masters and doctoral programs offered by Tecnun, the technological campus of the University of Navarra in Donostia.
230 new students joined the program yesterday at Tecnun with a grade average of 8.3 points of the high school diploma and will start the zero course that Tecnun organizes for 1st year students who wish to reinforce certain subjects. The students of the higher courses, masters and doctorate will resume their studies, after the summer vacations, next Monday, September 2.
It is worth noting that 47% of the newly enrolled students are women (an increase of 11 points compared to last year's figures) and 23% of them are international students.
The increasing presence of the international student body at Tecnun, as well as the increase in the number of issue students currently doing internships abroad, responds to the efforts of internationalization of the University of Navarra: this is one of the priority objectives of the 2020 horizon of the academic center.
Exchange students
On the other hand, Tecnun will welcome this week - on Welcoming Day - 45 international students who will study at the School this year academic year. The young people come from Australia, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Japan, Denmark, Sweden, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Italy, Austria, Germany, France and the Netherlands.
