Tecnun academic year starts this week with 230 new students and record number of female students

47% of them are women and 23% are international students.

More than a thousand engineering students are starting the 2019-2020 academic year in one of the eight bachelor's degrees, three master's degrees and doctorates offered by Tecnun, the technological campus of the University of Navarra in Donostia.

230 new students joined Tecnun yesterday with an average mark of 8.3 points from the Baccalaureate and will start the zero course that Tecnun organises for 1st year students who wish to reinforce certain subjects. The students of the higher courses, masters and doctorate will resume their studies, after the summer holidays, on Monday 2 September.

It is worth noting that 47% of the newly enrolled students are women (an increase of 11 points compared to last year's figures) and 23% of them are international students.

The increasing presence of international students at Tecnun, as well as the increase in the number of students currently doing internships abroad, responds to the efforts of Internacionalization of the University of Navarra: this is one of the priority objectives of the 2020 horizon of the academic center.

Exchange students

On the other hand, Tecnun will welcome this week - in the Welcoming Day - 45 international students who will study at the School this academic year. The young people come from Australia, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Peru, Japan, Denmark, Sweden, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Italy, Austria, Germany, France and the Netherlands.
