Users of the Library at Tecnun can borrow works and take them out of the Library for a certain period of time. To do so, they must take into account:

  • The loan is personal and therefore requires the presentation of the University card or the corresponding authorised card, so loans will not be made to those who do not present it or who show the card of another user.
  • The user undertakes to treat the documents in his/her custody properly and to return them in good condition and in due time. Returns can be made at the lending desk or in the mailbox provided for this purpose.

Loan conditions

All works can be borrowed except:

  • Reference works: bibliographies, catalogues, dictionaries, encyclopaedias.
  • Works of special value: unique editions, special editions and collections.
  • Works frequently consulted on the ward.
  • Magazines and other periodicals.
  • Thesis.

Works that can be accessed directly are taken from the bookshelves and taken to the lending desk or the self-checkout machine.

If the work cannot be accessed directly, it must be ordered from the catalogue or at the counter.

In the My account option you can consult the documents on loan, their return date, bookings made and the loan history.

If the user wants to consult or borrow a work that is already on loan, he/she can use the reservation system.

This system allows you to be informed when the work is returned and prevents the user who has the work from continuing to renew the loan.

After receiving the notice, you have two days to withdraw the reserved work.

In case of reserving a book that is available in the Library, the user will not receive any notification.

Returns should be made at the desk or in the drop box at the entrance to the Library.

It is not necessary to present a user card and can be returned by anyone.

Works on loan can be renewed from the My Account option, as long as they have not been reserved by another user.

The self-renewal of textbooks, recommended in the bibliographies of the subjects, is not authorised as their loan period is for the whole semester.

Failure to return a book within the stipulated period, after receiving notice from the library that it has been reserved by another user, will result in the suspension of the loan and reservation service. In the event of receiving more than two notices and not returning the book, the account will be blocked.

If you lose a book, you should inform the library staff as soon as possible. The book must be replaced or, if this is not possible, the Library may purchase a new copy. The cost of the replacement and the corresponding expenses will be paid by the borrower.
