Offers common to all Degrees
The goal of this final work of Degree is to investigate the possibility of producing WC-based cemented carbides with alternative binders to cobalt (Co). The alternative binders to cobalt will be Fe-Ni-Co, Fe-Ni-Co-Co-Cr and Ni-Co-Cr-Ti-Al. The conventional powder metallurgical route will be used to produce these materials. In addition, the microstructural (DSC, XRD, SEM, optical microscopy, density, C and O content) and mechanical (toughness, hardness, bending tests) properties of these components will be studied.
The final idea will be to achieve materials with properties similar to those of conventional hard metal products currently on the market and used by major companies such as HILTI, Sandvik, Ceratizit or Kennametal.
Period: 22/23 academic year
Information and requirements:
The work will be carried out in the Advanced Manufacturing in Powder Metallurgy and Laser Group CEIT-BRTA

To analyse the different experiences at Tecnun and other universities in recording teaching material and the available technologies and to prepare the procedures and automations to facilitate their use at the University.
For this purpose, the experiences of the recordings made at Tecnun, different examples from other universities available at network, the use of different tools (Panopto, YouTube, Vimeo, ShotCut, DaVinci, OBS, etc.) will be collected. Access to the laboratory of innovation in education with cameras, backgrounds, lighting, lightboard, etc. will be available and the use of 3D software for the preparation of scenarios will be studied, thus defining and proceeding with the most appropriate techniques to be used by teachers and students.
