Opening Ceremony and “ presentation of graduation sashes ” by “ Colegio Mayor ” Ayete

On Saturday, September 19, the Ayete Boarding School ( Colegio Mayor ) will hold the Academic Opening Ceremony for the 2026–2027 school year—an “ workshop ” that will officially kick off the new school year and include the traditional “presentation of graduation sashes ” for new scholarship students.

The event will begin with the reading of the Activitiesreport for the 2025-2026 academic year by Jesús Bandrés( position , Dean , Colegio Mayor), followed by remarks from Gonzalo Aranguren( director). The inaugural lecture will be delivered by Francisco Javier Jiménez-Villarejo, prosecutor at conference room coordinator in the International Cooperation Division of the State Attorney General’s Office, under the title “Invisible Engineering: How the Law Supports What Works.”

This will be followed by the presentation of the “ presentation of graduation sashes ” to the new students and the “ submission ” of the Honorary Scholarships to Miguel Ruiz, General Manager of Colegio Mayor Ayete, and Javier Sánchez, CEO of ArcelorMittal Olaberria & Bergara. The ceremony will conclude with the official opening of the academic year and the singing of “Gaudeamus Igitur.” After the ceremony, refreshments will be served to the attendees.
