Juan Trullos studied the Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering (MII) at Tecnun- University of Navarra and, as he acknowledges, this postgraduate course allowed him, among other things, to "develop teamwork skills". These are skills that he is currently putting into practice at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) , where he works on real traffic data analysis and on development of algorithms for detecting risk situations based on this data. In a few days he will return to Tecnun-University of Navarra to participate with his company in the Employment Forum at Tecnun.

What did you learn at Degree and in the Master in Industrial Engineering?

On the one hand, in the Degree perhaps I acquired a technical base large enough to have critical capacity in research projects carried out in the company, while the master's degree gave me experience more in the human aspect, where I developed skills to work in a team and in the attention of people.

What doors do you think the MII at the University of Navarra will open for you?

It is certainly easy to find a job, both in Spain and abroad; its academic programs allows you a lot of flexibility when it comes to finding a job later on.

What would you highlight from your time at Tecnun-University of Navarra?

I would highlight the interpersonal attention . Throughout the career you meet people with whom you will most likely maintain a close relationship for life (employees, professors, students...).

What does your work at the DLR consist of?

I am dedicated to data analysis real traffic data and to development of algorithms for detection of risky situations, based on those data. Besides that, there are many working groups researching in my same area, but doing different projects, so in the end you end up sticking your nose in those projects as well.

The idea, among other things, is to use this data to improve the safety of vulnerable traffic users such as cyclists and pedestrians.
