Amaia Jiménez defended last December 21 her doctoral dissertation entitled "Modeling of lateral vibrations of leave frequency in drilling processes", before the tribunal chaired by Dr. José Manuel Sánchez Moreno. After the defense of the thesis, all the members of the tribunal congratulated Amaia Jiménez and her director, Dr. Mikel Arizmendi Jaca, for the research work carried out.

"I have learned to have a lot of consistency in the work. During the thesis you go through different phases and you are not always at the same level of motivation. There are good times and not so good times. That's why it's important to be consistent and try to do things as well as possible every day," says Jiménez. 

The new doctor recalls that it was during her final year at project that she discovered that she was interested in research and the machining sector. Now her plan is to continue at Tecnun combining research with teaching.
