Tecnun and association Against Cancer in Gipuzkoa join forces against the disease.

"Cancer is the most important social and health problem in the world and it is expected that there will be more than 16,000 new cases in the Basque Country and more than 5,000 in Gipuzkoa," said the president of Against Cancer in Gipuzkoa, Marisa Arriola, during the signature of the agreement that has taken place between the association and Tecnun, the School of Engineering of the University of Navarra. The agreement of donation, also sealed by the director of Tecnun, Raúl Antón, is part of the solidarity race that fifteen students from Tecnun It is being organized for the next 12th, 13th and 14th of April.

The funds raised will be used for cancer research in Gipuzkoa, since, as Arriola said, it is essential to continue investing in quality cancer research: "One in three women and one in two men will have this disease in their lifetime", he said, thanking the students for their efforts in carrying out this initiative.

Thus, and under the slogan "For another smile, run against cancer", the race will have routes of 3, 5 and 12 kilometres, which will start at the information point set up in front of the Donostia City Hall from Friday 12 April in the morning, until Sunday 14 April in the evening. You will also be able to participate in the modality from any geographical point through the Rock The Sport website. The price of registration It is 15 euros, and 50 euros for whole families.

It should be noted that the student organizers are part of Tantaka, the Solidarity Time Bank of Tecnunwhose goal is to put the time of the university community at the disposal of the social entities of Gipuzkoa.
