The automotive team 'Tecnun eRacing' presents the single-seater with which it will represent Guipuzcoa in the international university formula 1 competition.

The automotive team Tecnun eRacing presented yesterday the single-seater with which it will represent Guipuzcoa in the international university formula 1 competition this summer. The students of Engineering of Tecnunthe School of Engineering of the University of Navarra, unveiled the novelties of their single-seater, entirely electric, designed and built this year with the support of 65 companies.

"Every year, for the last 16 years, we have been building a racing car from scratch, which we are improving thanks to the accumulated experience and the ever-increasing support of the companies that trust in us," said student Ander Achucarro, leader of the 65 engineering students that make up the team.

Among the new features, the team's Technical director , Ignacio Ramos, highlighted the improvements in the Electronics area , as well as the development of a new cooling system. "Last season we saw that the car could not go at maximum performance due to overheating of the motors and inverters, so it's a big leap."

He also acknowledged that "they are still working hard" to be ready for the international competition. Formula Studentwhich will pit them against more than 2,500 engineering students from 600 universities around the world. Specifically, the students of Tecnun will be racing at the Assen circuit (Holland), from July 13 to 18, and at the Catalan circuit of Montmeló, from August 1 to 6.

It should be noted that Tecnun eRacing is made up of students from different courses, Degrees and masters of Tecnun, and as explained by the student Irene Aldareguia, responsible for area Management, "this year there has been a double challenge due to the generational change that has led to a renewal of 50% of the team". 65% are from Gipuzkoa, 11% from Navarre and there are students from other parts of Spain and abroad.

The presentation, which took place at the facilities of Colegio Mayor Jaizkibel, was attended by some sponsoring companies such as Epowerlabs, Irizar, Tecnun, Mubil, Mausa, Indart 3D, IDEKO, AIC, DIPC, Cidetec, Goifiber, Bicicletas Mendiz, Learnin, Itari, Ingeniariak or Tecnalia.
