CAF, Ceit and Tecnun are working on a project that will reduce train costs and delivery times by 20%.
These are the objectives with which the Unimodel programme was born.
The Unimodel programme, in which researchers from CAF, Ceit and Tecnun are collaborating, aims to understand the cost of operating a train on the track and to improve its life cycle costs. This project will also make it possible to analyse the impact of incorporating technological innovations in trains.
The researchers will also work to ensure that this project reduces the cost of the rail vehicle and its delivery time by 20%, thereby increasing the manufacturer's competitiveness. To this end, they will improve the prediction of the simulations and optimise the design of the vehicle suspensions, which will result in greater comfort and safety for passengers while minimising the damage that trains cause to the track.
The complementary nature of the members of the consortium will ensure that the results of the project are transferred to industry, laying the foundations for the construction of trains with higher standards of quality, comfort and safety in the future.
