Times Higher Education and the Sustainable Development Goals development

The Times Higher Education impact ranking evaluates universities on reference letter with the Sustainable development Goals set in 2015 by the UN. These goals, agreed by world leaders, set out to eradicate poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity in the framework of a sustainable diary of development (diary 2030). The goals, which replaced the UN Millennium Goals, have become a new measure of global innovation. They take the form of specific targets to be achieved in the decade 2020-2030. They are concerned with poverty, Education, women's equality, access to water, sustainable growth or peace and justice worldwide. A multitude of international agencies, nation states, companies and other local and regional institutions have lent public support to this global plan.

With a methodology developed together with Vertigo Ventures, the ranking evaluates universities on the 17 Sustainable Goals of development based on their impact on society. Taking into account the four best performers, Times Higher Education builds a global impact ranking, which measures how all universities worldwide contribute to sustainable development globally.
