This June, Tecnun has hosted the XIV edition of the conference of initiation to engineering, distributed in two parts; from June 18 to 20 and from 27 to 29 of this month. The goal of these conference is to encourage young people's interest in technical careers and research. Elena Azurmendi, head of the program, explains: "The conference is aimed at students who have completed their first year of high school this year, as this is a public that is starting out in technical careers and research. high school diplomaThis is a public that is beginning to wonder about the university studies they will begin in a little over a year".

The School of Engineering of the University of Navarra has opened its doors to 200 students from different schools in the Basque Country, Navarra, Aragon, Catalonia, Galicia, Madrid, Castilla y León, Alicante, La Rioja and Andalusia. 

"Many students of the high school diploma Many students of technical and health sciences do not know what engineering is, nor do they know what is the professional profile of a biomedical engineer or an electrical engineer, among others. They do not know how to differentiate between the different areas of engineering," says Azurmendi, so "these conference allow them to take contact in the different specialties. design Working with different practices in industrial, mechanical, electronic, telecommunications, biomedical, industrial organization engineering, among other areas of engineering, they get used to the idea and begin to get to know it better".

In addition to receiving orientation sessions on the different Degrees and their professional opportunities, the students visited the automotive workshop to see the electric single-seater designed and built by students of Tecnun. 

The visiting students carried out practical work in different workshops and laboratories and got to know some of the research projects of the technology center Ceit-Ik4.
