STAFF DOCENTE E RESEARCHER AT THE SERVICE OF TECHNOLOGY
The University of Navarra is a Research University that is convinced that research underpins and enriches teaching, always providing a service to society.
The internal structure of Tecnun responds to a departmental organization chart where the 14 research groups are organized according to knowledge or technological branches. Tecnun has 4 Departments: Biomedical Engineering and Sciences, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Industrial Organization and Mechanical Engineering and Materials. This organization enables cutting-edge research projects to be carried out through the close collaboration of experts from each branch of knowledge. The collaboration of TECNUN with national and international innovative companies allows the development of high enabling technologies added value that allow them to gain in competitiveness, boost their leadership and generate and exploit intellectual property.

Tecnun is an agent of the Basque Science, Technology and Research network , a group of research, development and innovation entities that, working in network, develop a balanced mix of research and development+i activity, carrying out specialized and excellent research that contributes to the creation of wealth and welfare in the Basque Country.
Tecnun research activity Tecnun multidisciplinary, collaborative, and seeks to achieve excellence by carrying out research projects at the national and international levels. The Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Institute (DATAI) and the Center for Biomedical Engineering (CBIO) are research centers affiliated with Tecnun.

Group:Thermal and fluid
Partners: Participating in the project are project Cotradis Transformadores ( proposalcoordinator ), the Center for Technical Studies and Research, Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa, and the School of Engineering at the University of Navarra.
Objectives
New distribution transformer designs for public/private distribution and photovoltaic applications
New sensors that enable online determination of dielectric oil quality.
New system designs that minimize the connection current of transformers, preventing voltage dips during connection in weak networks that could trigger protective devices.
development a methodology for determining the health index of transformers.

Group: Advanced Materials and Manufacturing
Call for proposals: 2021 AEI knowledge Generation Projects.
summary: The increase in orthopedic surgeries and the need for implants in increasingly younger patients are leading to more revision surgeries due to implant failure, largely due to the stress shielding effect. This project to design and manufacture a customized hip implant with Structures using additive manufacturing, which mimics the rigidity of bone, promotes osseointegration, and improves durability, reducing complications and surgical reoperations.
Objectives
Reduce the stress shielding effect by design Structures with mechanical properties similar to those of bone, capable of adapting to the demands of the surrounding tissue.
Promoting osseointegration through Structures optimized from a approach , analyzing their capacity to promote bone promote .
Increase implant durability through post-treatments that extend the fatigue life of Structures manufactured by selective laser melting.
Improving the quality and precision of implants manufactured by additive manufacturing through hybrid manufacturing strategies and localized optimization of surface finishing.
Design and manufacture customized hip implants by integrating the strategies developed and validating their performance through comparative analyses with commercial implants.
